Haute Polish - SCAM

Haute Polish is a complete scam. I thought that I would be saving money by purchasing this kit.

But instead I have wasted nearly $300 on something I thought was going to be just $70. I was surprised to find all these extra charges on my card from a company called LUMINESS Air which is the company Haute Polish is under. Then I go back to my receipt and in very fine print below my receipt it says that aside from the total charges of $70 today, I would be charged 3 payments of $33 plus service fee after the first month. What?!

There was nothing throughout the entire process from beginning to end of me ordering the kit that it had mentioned those fees! On top of that, the quality of the product is so poor! The polish is so thin, even after six coats, I can still see through my nail and it does not last past a few days.

Terrible product, terrible price, absolute scam!!! DO NOT BUY HAUTE POLISH!

I bought Haute Polish for $14.95. My credit card bill says 14.95 + 33.00 two weeks before I even receive it.

One step application...No way. Try three to four times before you couldn't see through the polish. Then it's sticky and it you wipe with the cloths given, it just removes the color. Not until you get you order do you read about the security deposit that will be charged.

Oh, and the additional polish you will continue to get every 3 month, (that the commercial says you can stop at any time) at an EVERY month payment of just $24.95! PRICEY! You can't just call and cancel. You have to put it in writing and say why.

I'm still waiting. And if you want to return the product you will wait on hold forever, and it will still cost you! You pay the trial fee, security fee, return fee, and...a 25% restocking fee. I though I was being careful to read the small print.

A lot of this information was not list until I received my order. This company stinks!!

I will cost you more than you think any way you go. It's cheaper to go to a salon.

By contacting us within the 30 days, there is NO 25% restocking fee as it states in the Term agreement that this is for refused packages only. If you decide to keep the package after the 30 days, there are 2 monthly payments of 33.00 to pay off 1 light and the second light you are receiving for free.

Haute Polish ripoff!

When you see the ad you think, "that is a good deal", but on the check out page where know one would notice, they put in the smallest print that they will charge you two more payments of $33.00. I can't understand how a business can do this to unsuspecting souls that can not afford that cost on fingernail polish.

It also does not perform as advertised because I have never had it even begin to last as long as they say it will. I want to do something about this but they are not interested in helping us. I can't believe I did this again. They are not the first company to do this to us and I imagine it won't be the last.

I will only order from reputable companies from now on.

Also, it would help if TV people would not let companies do this to us.

Overcharged and extremely annoyed

I will voice a complaint with the attorney general office in my state and encourage others to do the same. I ordered the buy one get one set advertised in their info commercial. They only sent one set and when I called I was told that I would be responsible for paying for the return postage and handling fees after being told I was not eligible for what they advertised. Whoever heard of such? They did not acknowledge what they sent was not what I ordered.

Now I am stuck with a *** product that I do not want from a shady operation that needs to be put out of business. With your help, that can happen. Tell everyone you know not to buy from these crooks. I plan on doing that!

Stay away! There are other companies that sell comparable products and value their customers. This company does not!

These idiots continue to bill me despite acknowledging that I requested to no longer receive products and my request to cancel club member services. They bill but have not sent any products.

I have informed them that I want absolute nothing to with them and asked that my information be removed from their data system. hopefully they will understand and do that.

Stay away from this company. You will be much better served doing business with one of their competitors.

This is not true. This company is a complete rip off.

They will not take the junk back and they want to keep any money they collected from your credit card. Read some of the complaints and try to tell me this is a misunderstanding. The people you have answering the phones tell you that you won't get a refund. It cost me $75.86 for what was supposed to cost $29.99.  I wanted to cancel my order and was told that I could send it back and they would not refund my money.

I just caught extra charges from Haute Polish last night. I called my bank automaticly and left it to them to deal with.

Although after reading these complaints I will contact them again let them know what I have found. I am also in North Carolina so I will see if this is something they should know.

First, the offer I responded to was advertised as $14.99, buy one get one free, I was charged more, but only received one, then has swelled when I called and told that did not apply. They are ripping people off and concerned and aware consumers need to put a permanent end to such by not buying from this company.

I paid shipping and handling to receive the items and they will charge me again when they are returned although I did not receive what I ordered, that is no way to do business. My complaint has been filed with my state attorney General office and the charges disputed with my credit card.

It is definitely no rip off. You do have to pay SEPARATE shipping for the additional light which is why only 1 light was sent.

All information is on the pink packing list that comes with your light as well. You may contact us to return for a refund as you did place the order.

Disputing it with your credit card company knowing that you placed the order will cause you to lose the dispute and the charges being reversed on your credit card. There is a big misunderstanding on what was ordered an no rip off If you would like to return the products you may definitely do so instead of created a big mess with your account causing you to be even more upset.

This company is only selling the led light. That's the only thing that works.

The gel polish-(total rubbish). The minute I applied it, it ran down my fingers. At first I applied first coat, cleaned and applied thin layers, still was forming down the edges of my nails. The automatically deduct $30-40 off my account, this wasn't mentioned any where.

Thieves, pls refund me, not interested in your product.

It's totally wrong, no information about your membership. Absolutely unfair, this product is not worth the money. Haute polish, this is not right for customers.

I know your trying to make money but understand you are killing your business with such poor quality. Nothing stops you from having good product into the market. I insist, am calling you this morning for my refund, it's not funny.

The TV stations should stop showing the Ad, truly without mincing words. You guys deceived me into buying this product.

You want great looking nails - get yourself a UV light from a Pet Store and hold your fingers under the light for 5-10 minutes after using regular polish for a long lasting high shine result.

Was looked for xmas ideas and thought this product looked so cool. This product, of course at midnight, looked like it would cure all of my polish ails.

On the infomercial it's hard to tell how much it is going to actually cost so I tried to order it and it was WAYY more than they described. If it was the most fantastic thing to happen to nails I would get 2 but from your reviews it doesn't look like it.

Thank you for saving me time, money and the headache of dealing with this company. It's luminous air and I had major issues with their sir brush make-up product.

Unfortunately, you do not clean after each application only at the end to wipe the residue.You have to apply thin coats and sit under light after each coat as well. If you only apply thin coats on top of each other without sitting under the light it will run as that is the incorrect way to use. In fact you bash the salons because they take 3 or more costs.

I was not out of my 30 day trial. I received the device on a Monday and the very next day I called wanting a refund and was told I could not get one they would not give me a rma number or anything.

Yes I did get scammed. legally somehow you cover all your bases but the product and customer service stinks.

Anyone who is considering to purchase this product please do not because you will have nothing but a *** product and nothing but drama trying to return it. Ethically this company does not have any

I too ordered this product it was a buy one get one offer and I heard the same troubles as everyone else the products STICKS. They are scam artist..

They do not refund you the money there infomercials are all lies. They charge you the introductory price and then charge you an additional $33 for the next three months. They will also charge you $20 a month and send out three polishes every three months this is set up without your knowledge. You can never get a refund I got my product on a Monday Tuesday I called complaining wanting to return it they would not give me an RMA number and said that they are going to keep charging me the whole hundred and eight dollars.

I complained about the infomercial being misleading and a scam and their feelings were well, we'll get our money. That's all they're concerned about - we just need customers to call and order once and we will be set for life. THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A MONEY BACK GUARANTEE!!!! THEY FALSE ADVERTISE AND GET AWAY WITH IT!!!!!

They do not care about their customers because they don't care if they ever come back. They get the initial order and they're happy with that because they know they're going to get paid for that initial order and if everybody just order once they can close their company and be millionaires with a *** product that never worked to begin with.

It said that the BBB lets them get away with this type of business practice. I have made many calls and never got any satisfaction from this company

I was not out of the 30 day trial period on this product when I wanted to return it actually I am still in the 30 day trial. All customer service has to say is they will send you out another bottle of polish.

If you call multiple times and get a different person each time your answers are different each time. This company does not work with you. Unless you like drama do not order this product.

Just like the above comment is from them and it's full of bull. Do not order this product it does not work.

I just watched your infomercial and it states 19.95 with no further payments. It was on the oxygen channel.

I think your company should do a better job of getting your prices straight. I was going to order and went on the website to see a different price and only a trail price with monthly payments.

The exact words on the television was 19.95 plus s&h with no further monthly payments. All this inconsistencies in price alerted me to not order and look at reviews of this product.

Horrible nail polish, no response from company

I saw the commercials and thought this was wonderful that I could do my own gel manicures at home! So did a fellow co-worker so we ordered 2 kits to split.

Within a few weeks of purchasing, all of my polish separated and NO color would come out onto the nail no matter what I did. It only went on clear. I have since emailed customer service TWICE (since I don't have time to sit on the phone for over an hour waiting to talk to someone) and have received NO RESPONSE.

I know they read it because I received a "read receipt" in my email. Don't waste your money!

Nail polish didn't stay on at all

I've used other gel polishes and they are great. This one, did not stay on, peeled right off, and dried and ruined my nails.

They are now all broke off. They also tried to charge me a security deposit after I paid the $29. Lucky for me, my card was maxed out, so they couldn't. After reading the reviews, I will make it a point to keep the card maxed for the next few months.

So the...just $19...is a crock! And the nail polish staying on is a bigger crock!

I was so excited, and extremely disappointed.

I guess we should have know that the Luminesse Air company would be sellng another make believe product that does not deliver. We will need to watch in the future for more of their fantasy products so we don't fall for them!

Will not issue refund for returned "RISK FREE" trial of product.

Service is poor. I returned my product and they refuse to issue a refund for the $49.91 I was charged.(In my world that is THEFT!) RIP OFF COMPANY.

Was supposed to be a risk free trial. I was charged initially 49.91 then 43.00 then 22.00. Had to go through deactivating my card at bank to get them to stop.

Customer service claims that because I filed a dispute through my bank after returning product then waiting for them to do the right thing to issue refund they will not issue one. Filing a BBB complaint today.

Known for the shame crooks you are. Ni ma'am you are sadly mistaken and making excuses I have ky bank statements which I will happily provide that shows I was not issued a refund.

Waiting 2 weeks should have been sufficient time sine you immediately can take funds from a customer before they even receive product. Your company STOLE $49.91 from me and as I said I have nothing to hide I have my hank statements and my post office return mailing to provide to the BBB. I returned your product as I wad not happy with it. After being told during a complaint that I was not getting a refund I filed the dispute with my bank.

This is not over. I will ensure that your company us known for the crooks you are. False advertising poor customer service etc. This is far from over because you're failing to do the right thing and return my money.

I have a letter from the bank that shows that the did not issue me a refund. I am an investigator maybe you should investigate your one practices.Thid is not going away until I have my money IN FULl. I have everything to provide for my BBB complaint and from the looks if what I read I am not the only person experiencing this.

We did not steal at all unfortunately,you went to your bank before contacting us to see if we would at least work with you in refunding first which we would have to better accommodate you with no problem. You have a letter from your bank stating that you lost the dispute because our charges are valid. It states online that the refund is for the purchase price.The 43.00 payments are the purchase payments which is why that was refunded back to you.I really wish there was something we could do at this point but your bank was involved by you.The Terms and Conditions you agreed to online states that you are paying to try the product and the additional polish ordered is non-refundable.I'm sorry you will be disappointed as that is not what we intend to do at Haute Polish.It is very important to know the damage a dispute with a company may bring as we could have accommodated you if the bank was never involved.

Just reading post, it seems you could've still stood behind yr product & made sure the customer was ultimately taken care of w/ a refund ;it's in yr best interest too for reviews & word of mouth. (I see yr side(very expensive) since you have lots of complaints-I think it's still worth it....

Playing it this way just cost you my order.

Terrible answer. I am listening to infomercial now.

I suspected that the price was a scam because I do my own gel nails. I bought several good and a couple bad brands. If a cost is too good to be true then it probably is. You really are not cheaper and the complaints are countless and very similar.

Worst? The company excuses. I would apply to help with customers service and public responses to customers who believe that they were robbed or mislead. During the infomercial, I hear nothing about additional fees.

Explain? Funny... the infomercial actually states that it is a steal. Did you know that?

Ladies listen carefully and review everything.

I can certainly understand your frustration however, You did dispute all charges with your credit card company before you gave us a chance to process your return in and refund on your account.The bank refunded you already and you lost the dispute making the charges stick as you did place the order and the Terms and Conditions were fully disclosed. Unfortunately,when a dispute is done we are unable to refund as your bank already has.The honest thing to do would have been to contact us to see how long the refund would take instead, you made us unable to refund with the dispute.The BBB is very much aware of company disputes and I deeply apologize for this happening.

So what exactly is the waiting time for a refund from a returned trial offer? Curious because the money comes out instantly & as the bank states, (and I used to work in the AHC dept) a credit is instant also.

The time depends upon the time the company takes to initiate it.

So, what DID you do to satisfy Tina? It really make a difference as to whether or not our business uses your product.

Thank you all for your support in my complaint. To date the company has done nothing to refund my money.

I was unhappy and returned the system because the colors were noting like shown the instructions said you may have to apply several coats , I followed the instructions but the polish was not quality product. I returned the product at my own expense because the company did not do that either. Do basically this company expects us to "trust" them from the start with the inital charge, send out shotty product , then they charge us again on the date it ships out to us, we return it call 3 times about the refund then we file a dispute with the bank will say they have completed their investigation and since I did in fact place the order I should contact the retailer for my refund , so I do that and claim that since I filed a dispute they could not issue me a refund claiming that the bank had issued my refund. Ummm sorry but I trust my bank and I have my statements there has been no refund.

So there really is no risk- free trial here. They have their product back and my money too. So sad they don't have an actual quality product to offer and extremely poor customer service so they could make thier money honestly like the hard working people who they Steal from. :( I'm so sorry for the other people going through this same thing.

I did file my BBB dispute so I'm waiting to hear back from them. I'll keep you all posted if I hear anything else.

e honest thing for you to do is refund my money since I returned the product. Yiu are the one not being honest. I hope you bought yourself something nice with the money you STOLE from me..

I wrote an earlier post about this scam of a company. To update I did file a claim with the better business bureau and the company was forced to stop charging my credit card.

However, when I called the company to return the entire system because #1 it really is a bad product and #2 it has cost me a total of $108 much more than the listed 19.99 the company basically told me tough *** but for your troubles how about we send you an additional nail polish WTF?! just save yourself the trouble and NEVER order this *** kit!

I am so glad that I decided to read the comments about this product...I was just about to order even though my gut instinct said something wasn't right with this product...first of all if this actually worked the way they claim it does then it would be much more expensive, so I figured it was the polish that must be so expensive in order for them to sell this so called "amazing" product... I guess its true what is said about "if it sounds to good to be true then it usually is"...Glad I listened to my gut and decided to read the comments...I believe you saved me from ruining Christmas for my family because I am sure it would have overdrawn my checking account also a few times which would have ruined our Christmas!!!!!! This product is JUNK and all of the claims that are made about the polish are FALSE. They say you only need to apply 1 coat and it will last 14 days.

I had to apply 3 coats in order to get the color I wanted and then it peeled after 3 days. Huge rip-off.

DO NOT fall for this smooth talk. First, you will not receive your products in a timely manner.

I had to call three times ever to receive anything. I finall received my order months after I ordered. Other posters have posted that not receiving it negated the 30 day trial. My problem is the fact that they charge you the advertised price three times, which is not made clear at the outset, and you are enrolled in an auto ship program which is also not clearly disclosed.

As for "we were only a phone call away," that is not true of customer service. Only if/when you get to corporate do you get to the truth (which only happened once I filed a complaint with BBB). Only then did someone explain the three charge business and the auto ship. It did not keep me from wasting a lot of money on these useless products but it did help me understand.

But I called customer service numerous times and never got a straight explanation.

DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY. Buy one of the systems at WalMart, Target, or Walgreens so you can return if necessary.

Bought the warm kit, six shades, the image shows one purple color in the kit. Sure enough they send me two purples.

I called them and they said they send a warm kit of whatever is in season, whatever they feel like sending you basically! I said you all need to change your image or state it on the websites under the product description. The lady named Tony just said " anything else I can help you with, ok have a nice day" that's it, I was supposes to shut up with that. And no resolution.

So they make you feel like you're the one at fault after they mess up and take your money, but before that they treat you like royalty to fool you.

I think am going to go to the better business bureau, and make an official complaint there too, since complaining to them goes unnoticed. Customer service at Haute Polish sucksss!!!!

I got the same thing with haute colors. Two of the same color.

What a pain.

The label was changed on one.

Pretty ***. The product dried quick but not a hard surface.

product was advertised as a bogo for 19.99 you pick your colors and then they claim that if you don't like the product you can return in 30 days but not really because they make it nearly impossible.

Then you try the product and it SUCKS I have tried a ton of these gel nail things and mostly all of them are not as good as a salon. However, target has a decent kit. anyways they sent the wrong colors and I ended up with 3 classic reds!! ok fine but to make it worse THEY SUCK, you have to apply like 3 coats just to get the color close enough to good and then because you have applied three coats the whole nails peal off in one day!

But the worst part is that nothing costs 19.99 I have been charged a total of three times for a total of ///$108 ( I should have gotten 10 manicures for that price) and they enroll you in some nail club without your consent and bill you for that but good luck getting the payments stopped!!!!!!!!!!!!

WOW...I'm so glad I read the comments before ordering. l'm not shocked; as I've been ripped off before by these types of schemes.

I'm going to have to agree with cc, if I can find your product in a drug store then I'll buy it for my wife. That way it can be returned without issue.

You simply have too many poor reviews for me to risk buying over the phone or Internet. Thank god for sites like this.

I have run into other companies with many of the same reviews, but ignored them & paid the same price. Therefore, thank you very much for posting & saving 7 of us the same heartache.

To share, I have learned that if a company pays the shipping both ways & does NOT INSIST you have to enroll in any type of future purchases.... They are most always very reputable!!!!

During the 30 days if you decide to return you just give us a call at 1-87*-***-**** Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:30pm CST. The 3 payments are only charged after you decide to keep the lights,it pays for 1 light and you receive the other for free.This is only charged after the polish is kept after 30 days.The coats has to be applied in thin layers if the layers are thick it is done incorrectly and the polish will come off because of this.We would be more than happy to help you if you would like to give us a call and we greatly appreciate you as a customer.

WOW nicely done LuninessAir. I am almost ready to try this again after those terrible reviews.

I do understand how there are rules and guidelines regarding the purchase and also a defined process for using the polish. Not sure about the colors (3 reds) issue and honestly, I do want to try this but have now been scared off. Hopefully, for these few unhappy folks, there are thousands of happy customers although why aren't they writing a review here too? I think ONE would have given me the confidence to go ahead and do this but for now.....I 'll pass.

Maybe I will find this product appearing in one of the larger drug store chains that carry such products and I'll try it then. No credit card issues, wrong polish colors, continued billing and best of all.....no worry about returns. I can't wait to try this though and when I do I will definitely add my review here for all to see. Hopefully, once the $ issues are removed.....the product itself will become the focus and the review will be stellar.

I need something like this...we all do.....so if it's a scam it would be so disappointing. Good luck! And remember that customer service is EVERYTHING for business success. Maybe someone needs to take a look at that part of your business!

Try sensationail or the sally handsome kit for about $60. Fantastic.

Worth every dime. Countless nail store quality manicures. You won't dislike it but if you do - return it.

Stick with name brands and stores that you, know. I get replacement polish at Walmart or Sally Beauty Supply.

I've tried applying this polish in thin layers as instructed. It takes about 4 -5 layers before you can't see through it.

And then when I went outside in the sunlight, I realized I could still see through it. And they keep sending me the most horrific colors. And I never signed up for automatic shipments.

I still can't get them to stop sending this garbage. Do not buy this.

I use the Sally Hansen and Sensationail, both are pretty good and I like them. Even use regular polish between the base & top coats.

I wanted to get this Haute polish, but after reading about it........NO thanks. Won't even consider it.

I just noticed that Haute polish charged me an extra 45.95 on top of the 29.91. I was not aware there would be a charge so I dusputed it with Haute polish.

They told me there was an email sent to me after I placed my order to notify me of the terms, but I never received it. So I got an overdraft fee of $35 & I asked them to refund me & they said they have no way of being able to do that..... What are you serious!! I spoke with a supervisor Elizabeth & while we were on the phone she said ok mam we just refunded you the 75.86 & resent you the email explaining the 45.95 fee so you're now aware & we can't refind you the overdraft fee.

I specifically us a credit card with only $300 limit in the account for all my online purchases so I just in case my card is compromised. Haute Polish is a scam with false advertising! DO NOT purchase their product!! Their customer service department are like robots reading a script.

They are very SHADY please don't get fooled by their false advertising! I hope this doesn't happen to you.

I am an educated woman and no where in your terms does it clearly say "By ordering this BOGO (and getting three extra polishes, free shipping, etc...) you are agreeing to enter into a club whereas you will be shipped new polish (or whatever) ever month and be billed "a specific amount of money."

Just reading the terms, however, you can see how it is eluding to a such an arrangement--BUT THERE ARE NO SPECIFIC TERMS. Moreover, once you discover this, you would have to call, get authorization to send your bogus BOGO items back to the company---with the customer paying shipping and forfeiting your original $14.99 PLUS possibly a $25 dollar restocking fee.

So there you would sit, much poorer, and you wouldn't have any nail polish in your possession.

So, explain to me, what's the point? Other than to deceive customers and take their money while they get nothing but aggravation.

I will never buy this product again. I am better off going to a professional who knows what they are doing.

I wore the product for two days. The polish started to peel off and my nails were stained. And it's a scam for $19.95. You really end up paying an additional $99.

That was my fault. Do not be like me. Do not purchase this product. Oh, if you do, the delivery will take 2-6 weeks.

My advice: Spend the money on a professional.

I ordered this product months ago and no matter how many times I use it my nails never look like the nails on TV. The same when my daughters use it.

And everytime the infomercial comes on a TV I get an instant attitude because the advertisement is so dishonest. It always seems like you have to put like 3-4 coats of polish on your nails in order for the color to come out right and even then your nails look like you painted your nails with that nail polish you buy your daughters when they are like 3 or 4 years old from the play kit. And it takes longer than the 10 minutes that they advertise because you have to put on so many coats. I feel bad that I purchased this product and feel even worse that I got one for a friend, I had to give her another gift to make up for this one.

Please people I admonish you go to the Nail Salon, or just get a gel nail polish from Walmart or Sally's, trust me it's less headache and far less expensive than this mess.

The best advise I can give is this, when you see the infomercial come on tv.... CHANGE THE CHANNEL!

The problem is the same 3-4 coats polish look worst than when the kids play with polish I sent my kits back they still going in my account and to top it off I call them after this morning I got a package with more polish call them and was told they never receive my package these people are thief don't buy anything from them

Dear Downright pissed,

You need to contact your bank dispute it and stop the automatic drafts from coming out. Your bank will do it for you and on top of that you may want them to reimburse you for the money that they continue to take out of your account.

The same happened to me and that was the step I had to take and I have not had any problems since. Your bank is there to serve you, not Haute polish.

Close that bank account/debit card number and they can't take anything out anymore. Also file a dispute with ur bank and explain the situation, you might get some of your money back
